John Russell

John has eight years private equity experience with Catalyst Investment Managers and Ironbridge. Prior to joining Catalyst in 2003 he worked with LEK Consulting and during four years with the firm advised clients in London, Australia and the broader Asia-Pacific region on business strategy and mergers and acquisitions.
While at Catalyst, he was involved in B&D Doors' A$32 million acquisition of ATA and the subsequent A$255 million sale of B&D to Alesco Corporation. He was also involved in the portfolio management of Serck Controls and led Catalyst's exit from that business. He joined Ironbridge in March 2006.
Within the Ironbridge II portfolio John has led the A$451 million buyout of iNova Pharmaceuticals from 3M Company and the Ironbridge investment into FleetPartners, the secondary acquisition of a market-leading fleet management operation.
John graduated from Monash University in Melbourne with a Commerce degree and obtained a First Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering. He subsequently completed an MBA at Harvard Business School.
